Veterinarians
Dr. Gabe Muller
Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Gabe Muller graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1980. Over the years Dr. Muller has combined his interests in veterinary medicine, family and travel. He first spent several years in a specialty emergency practice developing skills needed to quickly evaluate and prioritize health problems as they are presented. He has spent the last number of years helping to ensure the health and well being of family pets as owner and Chief Medical Director of Vancouver Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Muller does not currently see patients as his primary role as Chief Medical Director is to maintain an organizational role in the clinic while providing medical advice to his colleagues.
In addition to his love of veterinary medicine and pets, Dr. Muller also has the love of a family with four active children and Hallie the Mexican mixed breed rescue dog.
Dr. Amy Cheung
Veterinarian and Medical Director
Dr. Amy Cheung graduated from Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 2008. She has brought new and innovative perspectives to the practice and has a special interest in veterinary ophthalmology. Dr. Cheung is one of the Medical Directors and her goal is to ensure the quality of service and medicine at Vancouver Veterinary Hospital.
Prior to joining Vancouver Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Cheung spent her time in California as a small animal practitioner and surgeon. She had the pleasure of working with Western University of Health’s College of Veterinary Medicine in California as a teacher for veterinary students during their clinical rotations.
Dr. Cheung is proficient in Cantonese. Originally from Ontario, Dr. Cheung enjoys activities that brought her out to British Columbia years ago, such as skiing, mountain biking and hiking. She also enjoys baking, photography and spending time with her adopted dogs, Tequila the Mexican rescue and Kahlua the Golden Retriever mix.
Dr. Assaf Goldberg
Veterinarian and Medical Director
Dr. Assaf Goldberg graduated from the The Koret School of Veterinary Medicine of the Israel Hebrew University. He then completed his North American Veterinary License in the United States.
Dr. Goldberg has practiced at several emergency centers and has worked closely with many specialists. His main interests are in internal medicine, emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Goldberg moved to British Columbia in 2016 with his family and has enjoyed practicing in this beautiful province ever since. He worked at four large and busy practices and at an emergency centre before joining the Vancouver Veterinary Hospital team as a full time clinician and medical director. Dr. Goldberg is fluent in Hebrew.
In his spare time, Dr Goldberg enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, skiing, and attending music concerts. His family consists of his loving spouse, three kids, and cute dog named Yudit who was rescued from Texas and a lazy cat named Eeyo rescued from Richmond, BC.
Dr. Juliet Cao
Veterinarian
Dr. Juliet Cao is a 2021 graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon and has a decade of experience in the veterinary industry. She has been working here at VVH since before she got into veterinary school! We are thrilled to welcome her as part of the team as she follows her dream as a veterinarian.
Dr. Cao speaks Mandarin. She shares her home with an outgoing black and white domestic medium-haired feline named Oreo. In her spare time, Juliet enjoys drawing, photography, hiking, and kissing her cat. What a lucky cat!
Dr. Philip Wolfman
Veterinarian
Dr. Caius Chan
Veterinarian
After graduation, Dr. Chan completed a 2 year rotating internship working with many specialists in different fields. After his internship, he continued to work and gain valuable emergency medicine experience at a busy 24 hour referral hospital managing emergencies and complicated cases for 4 years. He then moved on to private practice in pursuit of further developing his skills. During the years working as a veterinarian, Dr. Chan has cultivated a strong passion for the medical care of animals. His fields of interest include cardiology, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and ultrasonography. He is keen to pursue further study in these fields.
Dr. Chan is very thrilled to join the team at VVH in 2023. He cares deeply for animals of all kind, and makes their wellbeing his first priority. Dr. Chan is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Dr. Priscilla Yu
Locum Veterinarian
Dr. Priscilla Yu obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University in 2005, and obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of West Indies (UWI) School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She worked and taught at UWI’s Small Animal Teaching Hospital for three years (2011-2014). Dr. Yu joined the Vancouver Veterinary Hospital team in 2014.
In her spare time, Dr. Yu enjoys a variety of hobbies, such as cooking, baking, snowboarding, camping, kayaking, trying new foods, and exploring the beautiful city of Vancouver. She also has a special interest in marine biology. She shares her household with many plants, Winston the feline gentleman, Franklin the young troublemaker cat and Julie the blind rescue Chihuahua mix.
Dr. Sarina Minhas
Locum Veterinarian
Dr. Sarina Minhas graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 2014, after completing her Bachelor of Science at McGill University. She also completed her Master of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
Dr. Minhas is a local that was raised in Richmond, BC, and enjoys participating in community events. Her home includes two rescued Terrier mixes from Korea, named Kona and Lilu. Kona enjoys the finer things in life like fluffy dog beds and fashionable outfits. Lilu enjoys running around in happiness because to her, the world is always rainbows and butterflies.
In her spare time, Dr. Minhas enjoys reading, watching the Simpsons, and hanging out with Kona and Lilu. She is a coffee connoisseur and an expert trivia night player.
Dr. Irene Kong
Locum Veterinarian
Dr. Irene Kong graduated from the University of Queensland with honours in 2020. She obtained a degree in biochemistry from Simon Fraser University prior to attending vet school in Australia. She has volunteered and worked at various veterinary hospitals in Vancouver prior to joining the team at VVH.
Dr. Kong shares her household with Simba, a gentle sweet Labrador Retriever who is very food motivated and enjoys long walks and playing with other dogs. Simba was originally from BC but flew with his mom to Australia to attend vet school with her. So he technically could pass as ‘dogtor’ and he has even saved lives by being a canine blood donor!
In her spare time, Dr. Kong enjoys spending time with Simba hiking and walking around Vancouver making new dog friends. She also enjoys watching movies and TV (especially Korean dramas) with Simba. Other hobbies include pencil drawing and flower arranging.
Dr. Kong is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin.

Andrew
Client Service Coordinator
Andrew started his work with animals by volunteering at the Langley Animal Protection Society and Wellness clinics. He shares his household with his canine best friend named Bentley, an adorable Chihuahua mix with his own instagram account (@babyboybentoo). We are sure Bentley is actually half bunny because he likes to hop around.
In his spare time, Andrew enjoys hanging out friends, exploring, eating and singing karaoke. He particularly loves Korean food and watching TV shows, especially Korean dramas. Other hobbies include playing video games and enjoying Vancouver’s sunshine in a park with family and friends.

Kiana
Lead Client Service Coordinator
Kiana has been part of the VVH team throughout the COVID pandemic, dedicated to her team and clients. Prior to gaining experience in the veterinary industry, she gained client communication and teamwork skills in the hospitality industry. Her love of animals brought her to the veterinary medicine field.
Kiana was born and raised in the Canadian prairies on a farm with a variety of animals, including cattle, goats, dogs, cats, ducks and llamas. Her current household consists of two rambunctious and affectionate cats named Georgie and Jinx.
In her spare time, Kiana enjoys swimming, archery, trying out new restaurants, and cuddling with her two cats while knitting.
Niko
Veterinary Office Assistant
Niko has been a fantastic energetic addition to the VVH team. They graduated from SFU with a Biomedical Physiology degree in 2022 and is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program. They are completed a certification in Medical Laser Therapy with Summus and a Pet Nutrition Coach certification with NAVC. Their past experience includes working at various small animal clinics in Canada and at a pet store as a small animal and reptile department manager. They also volunteered in large animal veterinary clinics in Poland.
Niko comes from a family with a large farm in Poland, which is home to a zoo of cats, dogs, bunnies, rats, hedgehogs, conures (gorgeous birds), salt and freshwater fish, geckos, and snakes. So Niko’s family includes the greatest variety of species amongst all the team members here at VVH!
In their spare time, Niko enjoys playing instruments (mainly bass and guitar), playing video games, drawing and SFX makeup.
Sindy
Veterinary Technician
Sindy graduated from UBC in 2017 with a degree in Applied Animal Biology. In February 2019 she graduated from Douglas College’s Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) program and will soon be obtaining her Registered Veterinary Technician degree. She had been volunteering at the BC SPCA since 2016 as well as the Langley Animal Protection Society. We are grateful to have her as part of our team!
Her pets include a playful pet pigeon which was rescued over 9 years ago. He is the master of her household and has his own custom playpen. He cannot fly due to an unknown wing injury which he sustained when he was young. Sindy also raises several colourful fish called Blood-red Parrot Cichlids.
In her spare time, Sindy enjoys volleyball, polymer clay and resin crafts, listening and singing to music, and watching musicals and movies.

Adriana
Front Office Manager
Adriana joined VVH after gaining years of experience managing at other veterinary hospitals in the Lower Mainland. She has experience at the BC SPCA and has a special interest in animal welfare and the human animal bond.
Adriana manages her circus (also known as her home) with two large dogs, Bebop and Bronco, both Rottweiler mixes, cats Daisy, Duke, Leo and Tobias, plus three awesome children.
In her spare time, Adriana enjoys swimming, wakeboarding, scuba diving, and building Lego sets.
Jenny
Veterinary Technician Manager
Jenny joined VVH with a breadth of experience including critical care and emergency medicine. Her hardworking nature and love of animals is evident in the care she expresses with each patient.
Jenny shares her household with her entourage of animals which include Sasha the Yorkshire Terrier, Kingsley the Husky, Butters the Lab mix, and two round (“fluffy”) cats Toby and Omega.
Jenny has completed her degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician with Thompson Rivers University. In her spare time , Jenny enjoys exploring delicious food and bubble tea options in the city, hiking, dancing and bungee jumping.
Tania
Human Resources Manager and Veterinary Office Assistant
Tania joined the VVH team not once but twice! She first came to VVH 18 years ago after she graduated from Granville Business College’s Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) program. During her practicum, she gained much respect for Dr. Gabe Muller and the staff at VVH. Since then she had brought all her pets here, even when she continued to work in her own mobile dog grooming business. This year, Tania rejoined the VVH for a sweet reunion!
Tania shares her household with Tuna Luna (a strong independent female cat), Tre (a dashingly handsome 3-legged male cat), Blue (a Catahoula mix female dog which is the sweetest “wild child“) and of course one devoted husband.
In her spare time, Tania enjoys hiking, skiing, cycling and listening to (vinyl!) records with her husband.
